Vent: I used to think spray paint was spray paint til I grabbed the wrong kind on a project
Tried painting a plastic planter with regular rust-oleum instead of the plastic-specific dollar store stuff and it peeled off in one sheet after 2 days, has anyone else learned this the hard way or am I just slow?

Oh man the 'peels off in one sheet' part made me laugh because I did the exact same thing on a bird bath and now it's just a sad gray ghost of its former self.

... and now every time I look at it I just think of a slightly depressed cement ghost. I accidentally did the same thing to a cheap resin planter I got on clearance at the hardware store. One hot summer day the paint just decided it was done and lifted right off in a big sheet like a snake skin or something. Now it's this sad beige blob that looks more like a melted candle than a garden decoration.
