PSA: that $20 dollar store glue gun ruined my whole craft table

Picked up a cheap hot glue gun from the dollar store last month and it leaked everywhere, melted right through the plastic base onto my table. Cost me way more in cleanup and a ruined tabletop than if I'd just bought a real one. Anyone else got burned by a bargain tool that wasn't worth the savings?

Did you check the glue stick size before you bought it? I grabbed one of those once and the sticks were weirdly skinny, so the glue came out in these thin little streams that went everywhere but where I aimed. Plus it took forever to heat up and then cooled way too fast to actually stick anything. Kinda wondering if yours was the same brand or if they're all just trash.
