Changed my mind about using human clothes for dog costumes after a disaster yesterday

I always thought cutting up old t-shirts and hoodies to make dog costumes was genius, saved some cash. Tried making a little knight tunic from an old sweatshirt for my corgi, and the thing unraveled at the dog park in about 10 minutes flat. The scraps got caught on a bush and he freaked out, took me 15 minutes to untangle him. Anyone else had a build fail that made you switch to actual pet-safe fabrics or patterns?

Dude, that sounds annoying but is it really that deep? I've had plenty of homemade costumes fail in dumb ways and my dog just shook it off after I fixed it. Maybe just stick to the cheap store stuff if you're worried, feels like overthinking a minor problem.
