I used to think a basic level was fine until I built a retaining wall
I spent 3 years just using a 24-inch torpedo level for everything around the house. Last month I built a 4-foot high retaining wall in my backyard with those big concrete blocks. By the time I got to row 3 I could see the whole thing leaning back about an inch. A buddy lent me his 6-foot box level and I had to tear down two rows and redo them. That long level caught a bow I never would have seen with my little one. Has anyone else had a project go sideways because you were using the wrong tool?

Did a buddy of yours ever try framing an entire shed with just a torpedo level?

Man, I've seen guys try that and it's like watching someone build a ship in a bottle blindfolded (not pretty). Your buddy must have some serious patience to even attempt that, or maybe just a really, really small shed.
