Hot take: Picture hanging is nothing like it used to be

Back in my first apartment, I'd tap walls and listen for a tight sound to find studs. Now I use a magnetic finder that snaps right to the screws. Saves so many botched holes and redos. But where's the fun in that, right?

My buddy Carl kept missing studs until he borrowed a magnetic finder from his neighbor. He told me @henderson.margaret would've saved him a lot of grief with that tool.

Totally get that feeling. The new tools are way easier, but you miss that weird satisfaction of getting it right the old way.

Are we really making a big deal out of wall studs? Elizabeth_gonzalez, that "weird satisfaction" just sounds like extra work to me.
