That $9 pressure gauge almost wrecked my machine last week
Picked up a cheap gauge off Amazon to check my brew pressure, slapped it on the portafilter, and the numbers looked perfect at 9 bars. Then I heard a hissing sound behind me, turned around, and steam was pouring out of the boiler relief valve. Turns out the gauge was reading 2 bars low because the fitting had a leak, and my OPV was dumping nonstop for 4 days. Took a $12 thread tape kit and a multimeter to figure out the real pressure was 11.5. I'm glad I caught it before the heating element gave out, has anyone else had a cheap gauge lie to them this badly?

Did your gauge come with that little rubber washer that's supposed to seal the fitting? My buddy swore his was fine until he borrowed mine and the same thing happened, his OPV was screaming like a tea kettle for two days before he checked the actual pressure.
