Had to pick between a cheap grinder and a used one, went used

My old blade grinder was making my shots taste like dirt, so I had $60 to spend. New budget burr grinders were all plastic junk, but I found a used Baratza Encore on Craigslist for $55 in Portland. Took it apart, cleaned the burrs with a brush, and now my shots actually have sweetness instead of that burnt bite. Anyone else had luck buying a grinder used instead of new?
