Found a cracked fan hub on my Xbox One X after a year of loud noise

I was about to replace the whole cooling assembly when I noticed the fan hub had a tiny crack right near the spindle from wear. A dab of super glue and some careful balancing fixed the rattle completely. Has anyone else tried reinforcing plastic fan parts instead of swapping them out?

Oh man... "dab of super glue" really caught my eye. I did something similar with my old PS4 fan a few years back. The plastic around one of the blades started getting really wobbly and I just took some epoxy putty and molded it around the base to reinforce it. Worked like a charm for another year until the whole console finally gave up. Super glue is tricky though because it can get brittle over time and crack again... maybe try something like JB Weld if you ever need to do it again. I always figure if it's already broken what's the worst that happens, you still replace it later.

Is a little crack really worth all that effort?
