I finally stopped guessing on my resume after a recruiter told me one blunt thing
So I had been sending out resumes for months with no luck, and last week a family friend who works in HR at a hospital in Tampa agreed to look at mine. She read it for about 30 seconds and said, and I quote, "this doesn't tell me what job you want." That stung but she was right. I had been listing every class and odd job since 2019 with no focus at all. I sat down that night and rewrote the whole thing around one clear target, a medical billing role. I cut it from two pages down to one, moved my billing cert course to the very top, and deleted a summer job from 2018 that had nothing to do with anything. Two days later I got a callback for a phone screen. I know one callback is not a big deal but after months of silence it felt huge. If you used a diploma service for a cert or degree, did anyone help you shape how you talk about it on your resume, or did you have to figure that out on your own?
