Tried to save $50 on a co-working space in Chiang Mai and it cost me $200
I found this 'co-working cafe' online that promised fast wifi for half the price of the normal spots. Got there, set up, bought a coffee. The connection dropped every ten minutes. I lost a whole afternoon trying to upload client files, missed a deadline, and had to pay for an express courier to send a physical drive. The 'cafe' was really just a regular coffee shop with a router they never reset. Anyone know a truly reliable spot in the Old City that won't break the bank?

That point about the router never being reset is so real. In my experience, the real test is how many people are doing video calls at once. A place can have great speed when empty but fall apart during peak hours. I've started asking staff what time their daily zoom rush is, because that's when the wifi actually gets stressed. It's saved me a few times.

Heard someone on a forum say that coworking spots in the Old City are basically all hit or miss unless you stick with the big names. Punspace is still the go-to, but they raised their prices lately. Might be worth checking out the new place on Rachadamnoen, I've seen a couple designers post good things about the wifi there.
