Someone told me my backgrounds looked like wallpaper samples
I posted a piece here last month and a user named PixelPioneer said my character was great but the forest behind them looked flat, like a generic wallpaper. They suggested adding at least 3 layers of depth with different blur levels. I tried it in Krita, adding a sharp foreground layer, a mid-ground with slight blur, and a far background with heavy blur, and it totally changed the scene. Has anyone else gotten a piece of feedback that completely flipped how you approach one part of your art?
