My 1983 atlas had a city in Texas that didn't exist until 2005

I was flipping through an old gas station map I found at a thrift store in Tulsa last month. There it was, a town called "Cactus Ridge" right outside of Amarillo with a population marker and everything. Looked it up and apparently the cartographer just made it up for some reason because that spot is still empty farmland today. Has anyone else found a completely fake city on a vintage map?

Wait, a cartographer just straight up made up a town on a real map? That's wild. I bet whoever drew that map just needed to fill up some empty space and figured nobody would ever check.
