Just wasted $40 on a map of Europe from 1938
I found this old map at a flea market in Phoenix and thought it'd be cool for my wall. The seller said it was from 1938 and showed Germany's borders before the war. Got it home and realized the map is actually a 1950s reprint with Czechoslovakia already split up. So the year is wrong and the borders are just made up. $40 down the drain because I didn't check the back for a printing date. Anyone else get fooled by a fake old map?

Yeah, "40 down the drain" is about right. I feel your pain on that one. I got burned on a similar deal once with an old road map of California that turned out to be a reprint too. The seller was nice enough about it but I learned the hard way to always check the fine print on the back before handing over cash. It's a bummer when you think you snagged something cool and it ends up being a total fake.
