A guy at the Toledo map fair showed me his 1952 gas station map of Ohio and one city name was so wrong I laughed out loud
I was flipping through a $5 bin at the Toledo map fair back in March when a guy named Ray stopped me and pointed at a 1952 Shell map of Ohio. Somewhere near Sandusky it printed the town of "Birmingham" on a spot that has only ever been Berlin Heights, off by maybe 12 miles. He said his grandpa bought it new and never noticed for 40 years. Anybody else run into gas station maps with towns that flat out do not exist?
