Shoutout to the $40 headlamp that saved my butt in a crawlspace
I do painting and a lot of my work ends up in crawlspaces and attics, so I finally bought a decent headlamp about six months ago. I grabbed a rechargeable one at the hardware store in Bellingham for $40, which felt like a lot for something so small. Last week I was under a house running a wire chase and my main light died when I was about 30 feet in. That cheap headlamp was the only thing I had and it kept me from crawling back out in the dark and losing an hour. I know guys who spend $150 on tactical lights and I get it, but the $40 one has taken a beating and still holds a charge for a full day. The strap is a little sweaty in summer, that's my only gripe. What headlamps are you all actually using for tight spaces, and does anyone bother with a backup in their bag?
