Finally convinced my coworker to stop clicking those fake virus popup ads after 3 weeks of nagging
He thought the "Microsoft Support" number was legit because it showed a blue screen, but once I showed him the same popup on 4 different websites during lunch break he finally got it, has anyone else had to train someone on basic browser safety?

Yeah phoenixh74 you're right, used to disagree but letting him get burned once would've taught him way faster.

Hold up, I'm gonna play the OTHER side here. Back off the guy and let him call the number, it's a learning experience that sticks way better than your nagging. You think showing him the popup on four sites is gonna save him next time when it's a fake "your banking is compromised" email looking totally different? People who fall for this stuff NEED to get burned once or twice on a scam that actually costs them something, like $50 or their credit card info. That pain teaches them REAL fast, way faster than you hovering over their shoulder with your "see, it's always bullshit" lesson. Coddling him just means he'll keep relying on you instead of building his own BS detector.
