That one bad week where my score dropped 40 points for no reason
I was checking my credit score like I always do, and it dropped from 720 to 680 in just a few days. Turns out a medical bill from a visit to urgent care in Phoenix got sent to collections without me even knowing about it. I called the hospital and they said they sent it to the wrong address, but the damage was already done. Has anyone else had luck getting a collection removed after a billing mixup like that?

Man, I gotta push back on this a little. A 40 point drop stings, sure, but 720 to 680 is still a solid score. You're not in the danger zone yet, not even close. Most lenders will still work with you at that number, and the real hit doesn't usually come until you dip below 620 or so. I get that it's frustrating when a mixup like this happens, but acting like your credit is ruined is a bit dramatic, dont you think? You're still in good shape even with that temporary mark.

Honestly, 680 is teetering on the edge and one more slip could screw you over for years.
