Hit 500 followers on my writing blog and it actually made me worse
I finally crossed 500 followers on my Substack last Tuesday. Everyone says that's the big milestone where things take off, but for me it just made me second guess every weird prompt I post. My most popular piece was a standard "write a letter to your younger self" prompt, but the experimental stuff I actually like is what got me here in the first place. Has anyone else felt like a milestone messed with their creative flow?
I mean, idk if 500 followers is really that serious though. Like, you had 499 people who probably liked your weird experimental stuff just fine, and now suddenly one more person shows up and you're second guessing everything? It's just a number at the end of the day, not a rulebook for what you should post. Maybe it's just me but I think you're overthinking this one.
