My crooked carrot turned into the sweetest thing I've ever grown

I planted 40 carrots back in May and 6 of them grew twisted together into one big knot that looked like a mutant finger. Took me almost 20 minutes to dig it out without breaking it, but when I roasted it with butter and salt it tasted better than any straight carrot I've ever bought. Has anyone else found that the messed up veggies actually taste better, or did I just get lucky?

Jordan, did you actually taste one from the same batch side by side?

...I mean it's just a carrot though right? They all come from the same dirt and get the same sun and water so I'm not sure how being twisted up would change how it tastes. Probably just in your head because you had to work so hard to dig it out and you convinced yourself it was special. People do that all the time with stuff they put extra effort into. Not saying it wasn't good but I bet a straight carrot from the same batch roasted the exact same way would've tasted just as sweet.
