My beta reader said my fight scene read like two guys hugging, so I added a 3 second rule
She told me every punch in my draft landed in slow motion with no space between the guys, so I rewrote the whole thing so no hit happens until someone has crossed 3 feet of floor first, and now she says it actually reads like a fight instead of a hug, anyone else got a weirdly specific note like that?
