The load chart changed my whole approach after 9 years on the sticks
Last Tuesday I was setting a 40 ton Grove at a job site near the Port of Baltimore, and the operator I was relieving handed me a worn out load chart from 2015. I always eyeballed the math in my head, but he made me walk through the radius and pick weight step by step. Turned out I was running at about 85 percent capacity on lifts I thought were easy. Has anyone else had a senior hand show them something basic that made them feel like a rookie again?

Bet your brain was doing some serious mental gymnastics to justify that 85%, huh? That old chart probably felt like getting handed a map to a place you thought you'd already built. Next time I'll just assume the numbers are lying to me, saves the embarrassment.
