My old crane's swing felt like a boat in rough water until I swapped the main bearing.

The whole cab would shudder for a full second after I stopped the swing. After the new bearing went in last month, it's dead smooth and stops on a dime. Anyone else had a worn bearing mess with their swing control that bad?

Imagine the stress on the whole gearbox.

Forget the gears for a second, what about the mounting points? All that twisting force has to go somewhere. Those bolts and brackets are taking a serious beating they weren't designed for.
