Am I the only one who had a main hoist brake fail on a tower crane last Thursday?
It happened during a slow down on a residential job in Tacoma, and I had to use the emergency stop and secondary system. Anyone else dealt with a similar failure on a new-ish machine?

The 2018 Link-Belt 218H I ran in Spokane had its main hoist brake decide to take an unscheduled vacation halfway through a concrete pour. I had to ride the emergency systems down like they were a bucking bronco. Turns out a seal failed and let in enough moisture to turn the friction material into something with the stopping power of wet cardboard.
