Unpopular opinion: my $60 clipper finally died mid-fade on a 7 year old client and I finished the cut with a $12 backup

I was doing a skin fade at my chair in Reno last Saturday when my Oster clipper just quit halfway up the side, no warning, blade stopped cold with hair still on the kid's head. I grabbed the cheap Wahl I keep in my drawer for emergencies, and honestly it cut smoother than the expensive one ever did. Now I'm wondering if I've been overpaying for clippers this whole time, so what's actually living in your drawer that you didn't expect to love?
