My client's hair turned green after a swim and I fixed it with a ketchup trick
Last week, a regular came in with bright green streaks from swimming in a pool with copper. I remembered an old trick from a class in Chicago three years ago. I mixed a quarter cup of ketchup with her conditioner and left it on for 15 minutes. The tomato paste lifted the green right out without damaging her color. Has anyone else tried this, or do you have a better fix for pool hair?

Wait, does the ketchup leave any smell or weird residue? I tried a tomato paste mask on a client once and her hair felt sticky for days, even after a clarifying wash. Had to use a vinegar rinse to fix it.

Oh man, the sticky hair thing is the worst. I can totally picture that. Tomato paste is so thick and concentrated, it makes sense it would leave a weird film. I had a similar mess with a honey mask that just would not rinse out. It took three washes to stop feeling like my hair was glued together.

But the vinegar rinse sounds like way more trouble than it's worth.
