Just learned why that one red lipstick faded so fast on me

So I was reading this study from a buddy who works at a color lab in Chicago and turns out it's not the brand, it's the pigment size. Bigger pigment particles don't soak into the lip skin as deep so they sit on top and wipe off way easier. I always blamed my dry lips or the primer I used, but after 3 weeks of testing different shades from the same line, the deeper reds with larger particles faded in like 2 hours while the lighter pinks stuck around all day. Has anyone else noticed this with burgundy or wine shades specifically, or is it just me?
