Rant: I miss when depositions were done in person

I remember back in 2019 we would fly out to a conference room and read the room during a deposition. Now I'm staring at 6 boxes of video transcripts from Zoom depositions where half the witnesses had their cameras off. Anyone else feel like you lose too much context without seeing someone's reactions in person?

Wait, were you actually flying out for every deposition before 2020? The big firms around here only did that for the high-stakes ones, the rest were conference calls with a court reporter present.

I'd probably have half my witnesses mysteriously lose their WiFi just to avoid me stumbling through questions. Don't you find video depos feel like you're watching a reality show where nobody agreed to be on camera?
