Update: started brooming my own slabs after 8 months of letting the new guy finish them
For 8 months I let the kid on my crew do all the broom finish work because he was faster, and our callbacks on slick spots tripled. I finally stood behind him last Tuesday at a job in Mesa and saw he was dragging the broom way too fast, leaving ridges that pooled water. Now I make everyone slow down to one pass every 2 feet, and the complaints stopped cold. Anybody else run into this with guys who think speed beats a clean finish?
