Finally got that broom finish right on a big patio in Tacoma.

The homeowner's dad, an old-timer, watched me work and just said 'you've got a good touch'. That meant more than any paycheck. Anyone else have a small comment that just stuck with you?

Yeah, those small things from strangers hit harder, like what kai_west said.

Man, that's it right there. I used to think the big compliments from bosses were what mattered. Then this lady I helped just said "you're very kind" when I fixed her fence gate. Wasn't about the work at all, just how I treated her. Stuck with me for weeks. Changes how you see the whole job.
