Serious question, my phone recordings from a small club in Austin went from muddy to clean after I made one change
I used to record shows at this little place called The Swan Dive in Austin and the bass always came out as this boomy mess that ruined everything. I messed with settings for a bit and nothing helped. Then I started holding my thumb right over the mic hole on my phone, just loosely cupping it. The boom went away and the vocals popped out way better. I did this at three shows in a row and the difference was night and day. Anyone else found a weird physical trick like this that fixes your recordings?
