Lost a perfect Pearl Jam bootleg when my phone auto-updated mid-show

Last Friday at the 9:30 Club in DC, I had a killer recording going, crowd was loud but the mix was clean, then right at the solo for 'Even Flow' my phone just restarted itself for a system update and I got 40 seconds of dead air. I tried pulling the audio file after, but it was corrupted beyond repair, and of course the guy next to me who was also taping left early so he had nothing either. Has anyone else had a phone decide to update during a show, and is there a way to lock that down without going full airplane mode and losing the ability to send texts?

Same thing hit me at a Ween show in Philly last year, right when they dropped into "Buenas Tardes Amigo," total blank spot in the master. I set my phone to never auto-update overnight and leave it on Do Not Disturb during shows now, texts still come through but updates wait.
