Walked into a client's office in Mesa and their cable mess was the least of their problems
I was out in Mesa last Tuesday doing a service call for a dental office, and the front desk girl waved me over to show me their billing machine had been running slow for about 3 weeks. Turned out the machine was on the same power strip as a mini fridge, a space heater, and the front desk PC, all daisy chained through 2 cheap strips from the dollar store. The real kicker was the front desk PC had been rebooting on its own for months and nobody connected it to the heater kicking on every 10 minutes. I moved the fridge to its own outlet, swapped the strips for a single 15 amp one, and the reboots quit that same afternoon. So now I always ask what else is plugged into the wall behind a machine before I even crack the case open. How do you guys get clients to stop loading up one outlet with everything they own?
