DAE find remote work makes you overlook simple hardware clues?

Ever since our whole team started working from different places, I've noticed how easy it is to miss the small things with broken computers. Like last month, a customer had a PC that kept freezing, and over video call, I didn't catch the loose RAM stick because the camera angle was bad. Back when we shared a lab, I'd just walk over, jiggle the cables, and boom, fixed in two minutes. Now, it's a whole process of sending pictures, waiting for replies, and the user gets frustrated. I set up a group chat for quick help, but typing out 'check the power supply' isn't the same as pointing at it. Sometimes I wonder if we're losing our touch with physical fixes. Maybe we need better tools, but it just feels slower and more disconnected.

Isn't it more about how we solve problems now? Like, maybe the real fix is teaching people what to look for with their own eyes, since we can't be there to point.

What about when people get so much info it just makes things worse? Teaching them to see problems is key, but if it's too complex they might tune out, lol. Maybe we need to focus on the basic signs first.

Yeah, used to think more info was always better. Then saw my sister get totally lost in all the details about her car making a noise. Just needed to know the basic sounds to listen for. Now she gets it checked way sooner. Starting simple actually works.
