Wasted $900 on a used Kirby Morgan, learned my lesson

Picked up a used KM 37 off a salvage forum in Tampa, looked fine in photos but the exhaust valve was shot and the reg needed a full rebuild, another $400 to get it dive ready. Has anyone else gotten burned buying secondhand helmets, or do I just stick with factory refurb from now on?
