Shoutout to double-checking your dive mask seal
I mean, my partner's a commercial diver and he used to rush through his gear check without testing his mask. After a job where his mask leaked and messed up his visibility, we talked about making it a must-do step. Now he always spends a minute to seal it on his face before suiting up, and it's cut down on mid-dive issues. Idk, maybe it's just me but that small habit change made a big difference in his day.

It's wild how often skipping the little pre-check steps ends up causing a huge headache later. I see it all the time with people just jumping into things, from not checking their tire pressure to ignoring that weird noise their car makes. That extra minute to make sure things are right saves so much trouble down the line, lol. Your story is a perfect example of a fix that seems small but totally changes how the whole job goes.
