Finally caved and bought a short box for my overflow singles

Spent about $25 on it, and honestly, it saved my guest room from becoming a permanent comic book spill zone. My niece was visiting and I could actually let her in there without an avalanche. Anyone else have a good system for storing all those random single issues?

Permanent comic book spill zone" is such a real fear. I ended up using those plastic magazine holders from an office store, the kind you slide onto a shelf. They keep the stacks upright and you can sort of label the spines.

I picked up a couple of those plastic magazine holders from Target last year, and honestly they work better than I expected. @wyatt771 is right about keeping stacks upright, that's the main thing. I tried stacking comics flat for a while and they just slid around everywhere, especially the thinner issues. The plastic holders are cheap too, around five bucks each, so it's not a huge investment. I write the series name on the spine with a Sharpie and it holds up fine. Way better than having a pile on the floor that turns into a mess every time you grab one.

Tbh, short boxes are a total game changer. I used to have loose piles everywhere and it drove me nuts. They look way cleaner than a stack of comics just sitting on a dresser. Honestly, that twenty five bucks is worth it just to not feel like a mess. I keep mine under the bed now and it's perfect.
