Warning: My 1892 map of 'New Belgium' turned out to be a fake I bought at a Portland estate sale, and I almost framed it
The paper felt right and the ink looked old, but a guy at the map shop on Hawthorne pointed out the town names were all anagrams of the printer's kids, so I paid $40 for a reprint from 1978 instead of framing a $300 fake, and now I'm wondering who else got burned by this same seller.
