Just got a coffee compliment from a stranger at the library in Springfield

Tbh, I was just making a pour-over at the public library's cafe area last Tuesday when an older guy named Frank stopped and asked what beans I was using. I told him it was a washed Ethiopian from a local roaster, and he said it smelled exactly like the coffee he had on a farm visit years ago. Honestly, it was a small thing but it made my whole week, just connecting over a smell. Has anyone else had a random chat about coffee that really stuck with you?

Was that really a random chat or just two people in a coffee space? Those talks feel planned because we're all there for the same reason. I find the best connections happen when you don't force it.

Does it matter if it's planned? A real moment is a real moment, and those are rare. I'd take that over forced small talk any day.
