Warning: I used to just eyeball the tool offset after a crash, but a broken endmill in a 4140 block changed that.
That was a $90 tool and a scrapped part because I was rushing... now I always do a full re-probe and reset the work offset, even if it adds ten minutes. How do you guys handle the post-crash routine to make sure it's actually fixed?

Ever have a crash so bad you just had to walk away for a bit? I snapped a tap off deep inside a part once and the whole day was shot. Now my rule is if anything even touches, I stop and check everything, no shortcuts. That ten minutes you spend is nothing compared to starting over.

My buddy watched a brand new CNC mill wreck itself because a clamp was just a hair loose. The spindle dug into the part and the sound was awful. He had to walk out for an hour, just like @tessap98 said. That crash cost his shop over twenty grand in repairs and lost time.
