Rant: tool offsets checked on every setup, or you will pay
After 6 years running mills, I finally learned the hard way that trusting the previous shift's offset sheet costs you time, not saves it. Two weeks ago at our shop in Toledo, a "good" offset cut 0.015 deep on a $200 block of 6061, scrapped the whole part. Anyone else make it a habit to re-zero every job, or am I just paranoid now?

Trust the sheet and you're gambling with someone else's mistakes. Re-zeroing takes two minutes and saves you from eating a $200 part. Paranoid is just another word for experienced.
