Had a coolant leak that was just a drip but right over my toolbox...

Got desperate and tried sealing the hose connection with a piece of electrical tape wrapped super tight. It actually held for the whole Friday shift. What's the weirdest temporary fix you've had to make that somehow worked?

Had a radiator hose blow on the highway once. Stuffed it with a cut up soda can and hose clamped it shut. Made it another 50 miles home.

That is some proper redneck engineering right there. I love the sheer confidence of cutting up a soda can and just going for it. Modern cars would probably have a meltdown if you tried that, but older stuff just lets you get away with murder. Honestly, that kind of fix is more impressive than just calling a tow truck.

Man, that's a proper roadside fix. Been there with the hose clamps and prayers.
