Just realized my friends are all plating like pros now

At recent dinner parties, I've seen everyone copying fancy restaurant styles with their home meals. Last month, a buddy served mashed potatoes in a ring mold with herb oil drizzle, and another used tweezers for garnish placement. It's clear cooking shows and Instagram are making us all want to up our game. We end up chatting about techniques instead of just digging in.

Totally see that, it's like everything's content now. Even dinner has to be staged for the invisible audience.

Forget just dinners, I've noticed people now make "content" out of bad stuff too. Last week my friend filmed her entire flat tire change instead of just calling for help. Saw a video where someone staged a clumsy spill for views. It's like we can't even have a real problem without turning it into a show.
