Almost set my kitchen on fire reheating leftover pasta with the sauce still in the pot
The jar said add a splash of water before microwaving, but I skipped it and the oil in the sauce popped hard enough to spark under my microwave's turntable. Took me 4 minutes with a damp towel and now I always stir in 2 tablespoons of water first. Does anyone have a safer way to reheat a full pot of pasta without drying out the noodles?
Adding water works but the real problem is reheating in the microwave at all. I take the pot and put it on the stove with a little water or even some extra sauce and warm it low and slow, stirring every couple minutes. Noodles come back way softer that way and nothing pops or sparks. Takes maybe 6 or 7 minutes but you don't burn your kitchen down.
