Just realized those fancy chainmail scrubbers are a total waste of money

Honestly, I bought a $25 one from that cooking store in the mall thinking it would be my forever cleaning tool. Ngl, it scratched up my seasoning worse than my old plastic scraper ever did. Has anyone found a good scrubber that actually works without messing up the pan?

Scratched up your seasoning? That's a technique problem, not a scrubber problem. You gotta use a light touch with chainmail, just enough to knock off the gunk. I've had mine for years and my cast iron is perfect. Sounds like you were bearing down on it like you're sanding a deck.
