My local thrift store had a box of unmarked tapes from the 80s and I snagged 12 of them for $5
Pulled out a dusty Maxell XLII with a hand-labeled tracklist that includes a song called "Raccoons in the Ceiling" and I am dying to know what that sounds like, anyone ever find tapes with weird homemade titles?

Dying to know" is right, that tape is probably gold for some local band's lost demo.

Read an article saying that attic tapes like that sometimes end up on compilations years later. @flores.tessa might be onto something with those raccoon lyrics.
