It took a ruined job to see the value in double-checking seams

Honestly, I used to think double-checking carpet seams was a waste of time. Tbh, I'd just slap them together and move on, figuring the stretcher would hide any issues. But then I did a big office space, and after a week, the seams started peeking apart. The client called, furious, and I had to go back on my own dime. Ngl, that hit my wallet and my pride hard. Now, I never skip sealing the back of each seam with extra adhesive. It adds maybe ten minutes per room, but it saves so much trouble. Honestly, learning that lesson the hard way was worth it in the end.

Last winter, a seam failed because the temp dipped below 50 overnight. Honestly, the adhesive just doesn't cure right in the cold. Tbh, I started using a space heater to keep the area warm during drying. It costs a bit more but saves me from coming back later.

My buddy lost a whole condo job over one visible seam.

What makes seams fail even after checking?
