Back when I started, everyone said you needed a perfect resume to get hired.

I've seen so many people get stuck polishing their resume for months instead of just applying, and they miss actual openings. Has anyone else noticed this shift away from over-preparing?

Miss openings"? A perfect resume prevents instant rejection.

Wait, what counts as perfect though? ATS systems filter for keywords, not some ideal format. So a "perfect" resume for a human might still get auto-rejected.
