Used to guess at tire pressure on my quad, now I carry a $15 gauge and it saved my bacon near Sudbury
For years I just eyeballed my ATV tires before heading out on the trails north of Sudbury, figured if they looked round enough they were fine, and that worked great right up until last October when I was 12 km into a bog and heard that awful hiss. Turns out I'd been running them way too soft for weeks, pinched a sidewall on a rock I barely clipped, and spent two hours winching myself out instead of enjoying the ride. Has anyone else figured out a pressure sweet spot for running on mixed rock and mud, or do you just check every single time like I do now?
