My $40 stove failed on night 2 of a 4 night trip in Asheville, and the reviews I trusted didn't mention it
Went camping near Asheville two weeks ago with a stove I picked based on a bunch of glowing reviews. Worked great the first night, then on night 2 the igniter just quit and the flame sputtered out mid boil. I ended up boiling water over the fire for the rest of the trip, which honestly was fine but not what I paid for. Looking back, every single review I read was a first impression or an unboxing, nobody had used it more than once. That feels like the real problem with gear reviews now, everyone tests stuff for one afternoon and calls it a verdict. Has anyone found reviewers who actually put 20 or 30 nights on a piece of gear before posting?
