I've noticed a trend in gear reviews: they rarely discuss ease of setup when you're tired and cold.

Tired and cold" is the real test. I've definitely cursed at tent poles in the rain when my hands were too numb to function.

Understand @oscarcooper's point, but I believe gear should work when you're at your worst. A tough setup in ideal conditions hints at bigger problems.
